This website is protected against copyright infringement of any nature by Website Cop. Website Cop has a purpose built copyright infringement Search Engine which locates copies of original pages on the internet within seconds.
Website Cop monitors this website on a weekly basis looking for copied pages on the internet. When an offending site is found the owner does not simply receive a polite letter asking for removal of the material - a legally prepared cease and desist letter is sent out, along with a retrospective license agreement which the recipient must sign and pay a hefty fee of many hundreds of pounds.
If the fee is not paid , Website Cop advises the client to start legal proceedings for Copyright Infringement, damages and costs. The offender then risks facing costs of thousands of pounds and much more if he decides to defend the case.
We run a number of photo websites and at the time of writing we have received substantial payments from 11 offending websites. Most of these were for theft of text and code, 3 were for theft of copyrighted images. Please note that to date Website Cop has been our partner for only 3 months. We have not had to resort to a court case with a single offending website - they have all paid the fee AND the material has been removed from their web pages - Be Warned.
The Digital Millennium Copyright Act - DMCA
The DMCA is an internationally agreed standard to prevent the theft of copyrighted material from websites - text, code, design, and images.
One of the consequences of the DMCA is that all search engines such as Google and Yahoo have agreed to remove infringing websites from their data base. Website Cop collates and prepares the information in the correct format for Google. Once Google has been informed they cannot knowingly allow infringing websites to be published on their search pages. If they do, they are breaking the law and can be taken to court for doing so.
If your website is removed from the Google database, you no longer have a working website. For more information do a search for Google DMCA
